HINDY, Wayne Wallace

HINDY, Wayne Wallace – 55, Elmsdale, passed peacefully away July 18, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, after a short illness, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Hearts Delight, N.L., he was the son of Anne Hindy of Whitbourne, N.L. wayne was a self employed trucker for over 25 years. He was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol (Baldwin) Hindy; daughter, Tiffany, at home; mother, Anne Hindy; stepfather, Angus Doucette, Whitbourne, N.L.; sister, Laurie (Kerry) Kriegel, Wisconsin, in-laws, Julia and Albert Baldwin, of Markland N.L.; a large circle of extended family and friends; he will also be sadly missed by pets, Cuddles and Ashes. Visitation held in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy. 2, Shubenacadie from where funeral service was held. M. Dale Crawford, DLM officiated. A reception followed in the funeral Home. Wayne recived exceptional care while in hospital, thus in lieu of flowers, donations to New Colchester Regional are gratefully accepted. MACDONALD, Harry Bernard

89, formerly of Shubenacadie, passed away suddenly July 17, 2010, in QEII Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in Shubenacadie, he was the son of the late Robie and Alice (Miller) MacDonald. Harry was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy on The HMCS Morden, Summerside and Fort Erie. Sailing with the Navel Fleet off the coast of Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944, he participated in the Allied invasion of Europe. Following the war, he trained as a chapter and was employed by the department of Indian and Northern Affairs. He then worked in the construction industry mostly in the Halifax area. With its technological advancements, he often spoke of his experience during building of the Victoria General Hospital. In the early 1970`s he trained as a vocational teacher in Moncton Institute of Technology. He taught at Colchester Regional Vocational School in Truro, retiring in 1986. Harry was an avid hunter, fisher, and enjoyed the outdoors. Telling stories and sharing a laugh. He had a great interest in baseball and was a Toronto Blue Jays Fan. He was a member of the Shubenacadie Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 111. He is survived by his son, Bernard “Bernie” (Ann), Truro; daughters, Betty (Jim) Fulton, Shubenacadie; Connie King (partner Dwayne Doucette), Cow Bay; grandchildren, Jason (Philippa) MacDonald, Auckland, N.Z.; Cari (Harvey) Gray, Bridgewater, Andrew Fulton, Denver, Colo.; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Alex and Ashleigh MacDonald, Mara Gray, and Jordan Fulton; several nieces and nephews; and son –in-law, Ray King. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Sargent); brothers, Trevlyn “Trev” Clarence “Clem” and Ralph. The family wishes to thank all the staff of the 5 West, QEII Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building who cared for Dad so compassionately and respectfully. Thier special care of Dad and their concern and kind words for us are very much apperiaciated. The funeral Service will be held at Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie, August 10 at 2 p.m. with M. Dale Crawford, DLM officiating. A reception will follow. Interment in Preeper Hill Cemetery, Shubenacadie. PAGE, Florence Izetta

PAGE, Florence Izetta – Age 85, of Rawdon Gold Mines, Hants Co., passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on August 23, 1924, in Rawdon Gold Mines, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Millie (McPhee) Wilson. Surviving are her son, Bruce Page, Rawdon Gold Mines; daughter, Ruth (Stephen) Kenney, Waverley; grandchildren, Travis (Tiffany) Page, Shelby Page, Morgan Kenney, Max Kenney; great-grandson, Cole Page; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Osmond Page; granddaughter, Jeanette Page; sisters, Mary, Mabel, Mildred, Nancy, Laura, Phyllis and one infant sister; brothers, Charlie, Avery, Walter, Russell, George, Howard, Doug, William, Burt and Gerald. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. There was no visitation by request. Memorial service held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 in St. David’s Anglican Church, Upper Rawdon, Hants Co. Rev. Carson Baxter officiated. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Society. TOPPLE, Marlene Olive

TOPPLE, Marlene Olive – 65, Stewiacke, passed away peacefully July 12, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Isabell (Fisher) Wallace. She is survived by son, Brian Russell (Ann); daughter, Julie (Mark Boutilier); grandsons, Mark Boutilier Jr., Michael Topple; granddaughter, Holli Boutilier; brothers, Aubrey (Linda), Leo (Margaret), Larry (Caroline). She was predeceased by her husband, Russell; brothers , Aldon, Keith and Clarence in infancy; sister, Bernice Loughead. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Friday, with funeral service 11a.m. Saturady, Dale Crawford DLM officiated. WEATHERBY, Jean – 84, of Parkland Estates, Truro, passed away in Colchester Hospital on July 18, 2010. Born in Shubenacadie, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (Caddell) Kelley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by stepchildren, David, Dartmouth; Ben (Helen), St. John N.B. Gerald (Brenda), Cobourg, Ont.; Sylvia (Richard) king, Bell Isle Creek, N.B.; step grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; brothers, George and Allan; sisters, Ruth, Helen, Margaret, Sylvia, and Marjorie. The body has been donated to Dalhousie Medical Research. No service or visitation by request. Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
