SHUBENACADIE: Bruce Andrew Cormier, 26, from Quispamsis, N.B., has pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine and cannabis after being charged in Elmsdale last summer. He will be sentenced in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on Oct. 4. He will also be sentenced on that day after pleading guilty to charges of being an occupant of a vehicle in which he knew there was a firearm, possessing a loaded, prohibited firearm of which he was not the licence holder, carrying the revolver in a careless manner, and public mischief after giving an RCMP officer a false name. He will have charges of possessing a firearm for a dangerous purpose and storing a firearm in a careless manner withdrawn.

Nine Mile River resident Travis Wade Gibbon, 21, has entered into a 12-month peace bond and has had charges of assault and uttering death threats withdrawn in Shubenacadie Provincial Court.

Brian Carl Horne, 23, from Enfield, will make his first appearance in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on Aug. 16 on charges of assault and uttering death threats.

John Douglas Julian, 46, from Indian Brook, will continue his trial in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on Nov. 8, on charges of disturbing the peace and quiet in a dwelling by hollering and ripping up a flower bed and mischief.

Indian Brook resident Hillary Lynn Paul, 19, has been sentenced to 12-months probation on charges of assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon—to wit—a steel door.
